amber washed on the shores of the baltic sea

OUR PRODUCTION

IN-HOUSE PRODUCTION PROCESS

At Amber Buddy, every stage of production is handled in-house with great care — from sourcing raw Baltic amber to final quality control and shipping. By keeping the entire process in our own hands, we ensure exceptional attention to detail and consistently high quality in every piece we create.

SOURCING RAW MATERIAL

CLIPPING / SHAPING

shaping amber beads
Each amber bead is individually shaped by hand using sharp clipping pliers.

Primary focus is always to get the baroque shape as round as possible however, not all amber pieces are thick enough, what creates flat beads like olive or roundel.

SURFACE FINISHING

To achieve a glossy finish, the beads are placed in a vibrating machine with fine ceramic beads, which gently polish the surface until it becomes shiny.

DRILLING

COLOR/SIZE SORTING

Raw material is sometimes pre-sorted by colour to reduce later sorting when beads are smaller.

STRINGING

Each necklace is strung on double thread, and each bead is individually knotted to make the piece more durable and less stretchy.
